Our 6 Favorite Financial Planning Blogs This Summer
We love getting creative with our clients - especially because financial planning is notoriously...well...uncreative.
The posts that we create with clients that go a little outside the box are usually the ones that get the most traffic. Here are a few of our favorites:
Charpentier Wealth Strategies
With all the doom and gloom that often comes during an election year, this financial planning blog about the positive things that can happen made us feel a whole lot better. From increased government spending to policy reforms, Debbie Charpentier points out that there are a lot of good things that can happen.
Life Story Financial
When it comes to financial planning blogs, we love a good story. Not only can a good story give the reader context for the information you're about to share, it also makes it more memorable. Michelle Francis starts this blog with a story that many parents going through a divorce can relate to and then continues with an actionable checklist.
Liz Windisch
So many financial planning blogs discuss the ins and outs of legacy planning - which is an important aspect of managing your finances. Liz Windisch works with many single Gen X women and that advice might not apply to them. Liz created something that spoke directly to her ideal client and offered tips they might not get anywhere else. That's a blogging win!
C. Beach Brown
At the beginning of the summer, Cecilia Brown with C. Beach Brown changed broker-dealers - something that many clients might be confused about. What is that and why should the client care? Cecilia created a simple explanation to put her clients at ease and provided questions for people who might be looking for an advisor. Great resource!
Sullivan Financial Planning
For years Kristi Sullivan with Sullivan Financial Planning has entertained and educated us through her weekly blog - but we truly love her WTF (What the Finance?) series. From the eye-catching title to financial education, we can actually understand, this is a blog (and newsletter) you'll want to follow.
Approach Retirement Advisors
We love everything these guys produce - mainly because they're so intentional about addressing client concerns in their blogs. This was a bit of a departure from their usual financial education as Phil Walker, CFP®, JD shared his experience taking his young children to Disney. As any good financial advisor would, Phil couldn't help but connect the dots between his poor vacation planning and "the chaos that can happen when someone is unprepared for retirement."
