Is Blogging REALLY Worth Your Time?
Let's be honest - blogging can be something of a time suck. And if you're interrupting your day to come up with SOMETHING to write, you might be ready to give up on it.
The thing is, blogging really can make a difference as far as business growth - but even I was surprised at the statistic above. However, as a long-time blogger, it makes sense to me. I know blogging has changed my life (grown my business, got me a book deal) so I know it works.
Here's why it can work for you.
Increased Visibility
Blogging allows you to create content that is indexed by search engines, making it easier for potential customers to find your business when searching for related topics or products/services.
Establishing Authority
By regularly publishing high-quality content that addresses the needs and interests of your target audience, you can position yourself as an expert or thought leader in your industry. This helps build trust and credibility with potential customers.
Driving Traffic
Engaging and informative blog posts can attract visitors to your website, increasing overall traffic. This not only exposes more people to your products or services but also provides opportunities to convert visitors into leads or customers.
Blogging Supports SEO
Search engines favor websites that regularly update their content with relevant and valuable information. By consistently adding new blog posts optimized with relevant keywords, you can improve your website's search engine ranking and attract more organic traffic.
Building Relationships
Blogging allows you to connect with your audience on a more personal level by addressing their questions, concerns, and interests. This fosters a sense of community and loyalty around your brand, leading to repeat business and word-of-mouth referrals.
Content Repurposing
Blog posts can serve as valuable content for other marketing channels such as social media, email newsletters, or guest blogging. Repurposing your blog content allows you to extend its reach and maximize its impact across different platforms.
Data Collection
Through blog analytics and engagement metrics, you can gain valuable insights into your audience's preferences, interests, and behavior. This data can inform future marketing efforts and product/service improvements, helping you better serve your customers and grow your business more effectively.
Blogging is so important that I won't - or really CAN'T - work with someone unless they have a blog. Blogging is how we connect, drive traffic, and engage with potential customers. So, if you're wondering if it's worth your time, try it for six months. Put your blogs on social media. Put out a regular newsletter (even if it's only to a small number of people). Watch your website's analytics.
I promise you'll see a difference.
